Gender and Leadership Programme Officer

The post is to be based in Sittwe and opened to Myanmar National and Advertised nationwide.

The role: To play an active role within the Governance Programme Team, and work actively with the humanitarian team to support Oxfam in Myanmar’s work on gender leadership in Rakhine State - in both Rakhine communities and in IDP camps.

To take a leading role in the implementation of an inclusive gender leadership programme in Sittwe IDP camps and support Oxfam’s local partner organization’s activities in working with Rakhine women and their communities.

To perform a key coordination and facilitation role among partner organisations, women’s rights organisations, civil society actors, local leaders, and relevant programmes in Oxfam.

To conduct specific project implementation activities as assigned by the Women’s Empowerment Programme Manager (line manager).

To assist the Women’s Empowerment Programme Manager in mentoring, accompaniment and training, and governance technical support for partner organisations as well as working closely with the Oxfam technical and operations team in Yangon and the Sittwe field office.

To focus on improving quality of development-humanitarian interventions by Oxfam in Myanmar.

To ensure lessons are learned and improvements suggested from this learning are implemented appropriately and fed into programming
