The role: The Durable Peace Program (DPP) seeks to contribute to lasting peace, security, stability and sustainable development in Myanmar. The DPP Gender Technical Programme Advisor will play a crucial part in reaching this overall objective and will be an essential part of the Program Management Unit (PMU). S/he will provide gender-focused support to all DPP consortium members, affiliated entities, and sub-grantees alike. The Gender Technical Programme Advisor will, amongst other tasks, play a leading role in developing a consortium-wide gender analysis, and gender assessments of Consortium members’ staff, partners and grantees. S/he will update existing information on individual and organisational gender gaps. Findings will inform decisions on programming and advocacy priorities to ensure advancing gender equality will be effectively achieved throughout the project, both in the stand-alone gender component as the mainstreamed wider program activities.

In addition to the above, the Gender Technical Advisor will together with the Conflict Technical Advisor (currently also being recruited) also provide advice in one or more of the following areas: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Accountability, Communications and visibility, Civilian protection and Livelihoods.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience in at least one of these additional areas of expertise. Applicants who can demonstrate expertise and willingness to work in more areas will be viewed favorably, however notable expertise in one area is also valuable for the consortium.

Employment term:    Fixed – Term - Accompanied (1 year with possible extension(s) up to February 2022)
