Oxfam is looking for an exceptional Country Director for Myanmar who can lead the Oxfam team in Myanmar to strengthen our long-term development, humanitarian and influencing work. Myanmar is a country in transition and so is Oxfam. We are looking for a strong leader who is keen to make a larger impact for people in Myanmar and who is experienced and enthusiastic to work with the Oxfam team in Myanmar and the wider Oxfam confederation.

The Country Director will contribute and implement Oxfam’s Global Strategy, by providing vision and strategic direction to all of Oxfam’s work in the Country. This includes Oxfam’s humanitarian responses, long term development program design and implementation, advocacy and policy and influencing. Responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and effective management of the Country programming ensuring development, continued improvement in quality and impact of programs and effective financial and human resource management in line with Oxfam Policy.

The Country Director will be responsible to implement the Oxfam 2020 Vision which aims to create a stronger Oxfam that is globally coordinated and relevant in every country in which we work.

We particularly welcome applications from women, as we aim to increase diversity and underrepresented groups at senior management level. We hope to recruit a Myanmar national into this important strategic role, however candidates with experience of working in Myanmar or similar contexts will be considered.
